I was a throw-away puppy. Even though I was as adorable as any puppy could ever be, no one wanted me because I was deaf. I was dropped off at the Connecticut Humane Society in late fall of 1993 when I was only 7 or 8 weeks old. The caretakers there loved me and nicknamed me "Face" because my markings were so cute. I was also allowed to follow everyone around throughout the day but no one wanted to adopt me. By mid-January, the folks at the Society called Connie Bombaci. She had adopted Hogan in October; and because she was so successful in working with him, they thought she would be perfect for me.

Mama, with encouragement from my new Papa (Jim), decided to be my foster parent until I could learn some sign language and a good family could found. She even made a video about me so other people could see what a wonderful puppy I was. But it didn't take long before my new family realized that I was in their home to stay!

I have learned lots of different signs - sometimes I act like I don't understand but Mama knows better. I have even passed the tests to become a Therapy Dog. I visit hospitals, convalescent homes, schools, and organizations to share my special love with others.
